NIEL AMSTRONG was an astronaut in the APOLLO 11 spacecraft that landed on the Moon, and returned to Earth.

When he visited Elementary School in Town of Gate, Monroe County in New York State, the young students of this school wanted this school to be named after him, so from then on, the school was called NIEL AMSTRONG SCHOOL, 3273 Lyell Rd, Rochester, New York 14606.
